How Much Does Painting Cost in Northwest Indiana?
Painting cost in Northwest Indiana depends on the room, the surfaces and the paint tier, but the typical ranges are simple. Interior painting runs $450 to $550 for a small room, $625 to $750 for a standard room and $850 to $1,100 for a large room, walls only. A standard ceiling adds $200 to $275, baseboards and trim $150 to $325 per room, and an interior door $85 to $110 per side. A full exterior repaint runs $3,500 to $15,000 or more depending on the size and condition of the house, with exterior trim alone at $1,750 to $4,500. Drywall repairs start at $250 for a small patch and run to $700 or more for a repair around five feet square. These are the ranges Hoosier Boys Painting and Drywall sees on projects in Valparaiso, Chesterton, Portage and Hobart. Final pricing comes from a free in-home estimate, and our minimum project is $1,000.

What moves a project up or down inside the range?
- Ceiling height and access: an 8-foot room and an 18-foot foyer are different jobs
- Surface condition, and how much sanding, caulking and drywall repair it needs
- Furniture that has to be moved and protected
- Number of coats and whether the color is changing
- Product tier: Standard, Premium or Elite
- Trim detail: a plain 2¾-inch baseboard versus a 6-inch profile that needs repair
Which paint tier should you choose?
Every project is quoted at one of three tiers. The paint and the warranty change; the prep, protection, cleanup and final walkthrough do not.

Pricing questions homeowners ask
Why is the price a range and not a fixed number?
Because an 8-foot ceiling and an 18-foot foyer are not the same job, and a plain 2¾-inch baseboard is not a 6-inch profile that needs sanding, caulking and repair. Height, access, surface condition, prep, furniture, number of coats, color changes and product tier all move the price inside the range. We measure and price every project in person.
Do the prices include paint and materials?
The ranges cover painting labor and preparation. Paint and materials for your tier are added in your written proposal, which shows one total for the approved scope.
Is there a minimum project size?
Yes. Our minimum project is $1,000. Smaller jobs are usually combined with other work in the home, such as adding a ceiling or trim to a room repaint.
What is the difference between Standard, Premium and Elite?
The paint and the warranty. Standard uses Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint with a 1-year workmanship warranty. Premium, which we recommend, uses Duration with a 2-year warranty. Elite uses Emerald with a 3-year warranty. Preparation, protection, cleanup and a final walkthrough are the same at every tier.
